Metro Turizm Used an Old, Dirty Bus and Delayed Departure by Over an Hour




On 4 July 2026 I bought a ticket from Metro Turizm for the Manavgat–İstanbul (Alibeyköy) route. The vehicle that arrived for this trip was extremely old, the seats were torn, worn out and dirty, and the interior of the bus was clearly neglected and uncomfortable. As soon as I saw the bus, before the departure time, I called the company’s complaint lines and clearly stated that I did not want to travel with this vehicle and that the bus should be changed. I was told that when the air conditioning was turned on, the bad smell inside would disappear and that this was the bus to be used and it would not be changed. In addition to the condition of the vehicle, the bus, which was scheduled to depart at 22:00, actually left at 23:10, with a delay of more than one hour. At the moment we are still on the road on this bus. So far I have not had any additional problems with the driver or attendant, but I am very uncomfortable with being forced to travel in such an old and dirty vehicle and with the significant delay at departure. The reservation numbers for this journey are (YOHRTL0, YOHRTL4, YOHRTL6, YOHRTL8). Due to the negative conditions I have described and the failure to respond to my request to change the bus before departure, I request that 50% of the ticket price be refunded as compensation. I also expect the necessary inspections to be carried out so that such old and neglected vehicles are not sent on long-distance routes again and that other passengers do not experience the same grievance.
