Mazda Denies Torque Converter Repair Under +2 Year Warranty

July 14, 2024 12:03 PM61

I own a 2015 Mazda 3 and paid for an extended +2 year engine and transmission warranty. At only 69,000 km, and 9,800 km after the last service, a fault was detected in the torque converter. This issue was identified at İzmir Mazda Tırak Automotive. Since I couldn’t stay in İzmir, I contacted Istanbul Mazda Merser, explaining the problem. They assured me the repair would be covered under warranty and asked me to bring the car in.

However, when I arrived at Mazda Merser, they refused to cover the repair, citing that the car had exceeded the 10,000 km limit since the last service by just 300 km. I was never informed of this condition when purchasing the extended warranty or during my communication with the service team. If I had known, I would have transported the vehicle to Istanbul via tow truck.

Mazda’s lack of customer support and poor communication has caused unnecessary frustration. While I loved using my car, this experience has completely soured my perception of the brand. I intend to pursue my rights through all legal means. Mazda must take responsibility and resolve this issue.
