Lufthansa Lost Our Luggage with Vital Medication After İzmir–Raleigh Flight

On August 9, after our Lufthansa flight from İzmir to Raleigh/Durham, our checked luggage was lost, and we have not received any updates for two days. At the airport, we filed a lost baggage report and were given the reference number IADLH9*. Our booking reference is 9Q2*, and our baggage tag number is 0564625*.
At our transfer airport, Washington Dulles, we waited about 40 minutes for our luggage, but ten other passengers’ bags were also missing. Airport staff told us that the luggage was likely misrouted to another terminal within the same airport. However, when we contacted Lufthansa, we were given conflicting and uncertain information, suggesting that the luggage might have been left behind in Munich.
I also have a screenshot from the baggage tracking system showing that our bag was indeed loaded onto flight LH414 to Washington/Dulles.
We came to the U.S. to help my daughter settle into her school, and the lost luggage contains essential prescription medication, as well as items of high emotional and financial value, including clothing and shoes. This situation has caused us significant distress and hardship. We paid a total of $6,178 for our tickets and baggage fees.
Despite multiple attempts to contact Lufthansa Customer Service, we have received no clear information about the location of our luggage. Given that the missing items are critical for my daughter’s health and education, we urgently request that our luggage be located and delivered to us immediately.
