I Am Demanding an Apology From L'Occitane Ankamall After Poor In-Store Service

On May 6, 2026, I booked and attended a free skincare and hand care appointment at the Ankamall L'Occitane store. While I did not experience any specific adverse reactions on my skin during the treatment, I felt that the service overall lacked the care and benefit I expected.

When I wished to take a quick photo of a sunscreen product I liked in the store, I was told that photography was strictly prohibited. While I only wanted to take a picture of the item itself, I regularly see videos posted on Instagram by others filmed inside these stores without issue. I fail to understand why I was denied a simple photo when others are freely permitted to film full videos in the exact same environment.

Furthermore, I specifically explained that I have sensitive skin with rosacea and preferred to test products first to observe any potential skin flare-ups before committing to a purchase. Despite this, the moment I indicated that I would not be buying a product on the spot, the staff's attentiveness dropped noticeably. My primary expectation was to receive even a small sample to test on my sensitive skin at home, yet no samples were offered, effectively preventing me from trying the product before deciding. The entire purpose of a complimentary skincare treatment should be to experience the products, observe their effects, and evaluate a purchase; instead, refusing to buy immediately resulted in an attitude that felt like being pushed out the door.

This was my first time trying this brand, and I was disappointed by the store's overall approach when I was expecting a positive experience. I believe both the strict, inconsistent photography rule and the sales-centric attitude—including the refusal to provide samples—do not align with the brand's image. I request that L'Occitane review its staff's customer service approach and provide a sincere explanation and apology regarding this incident.
