I would like to report the negative experience I had with Hobi Elektronik, an LG-authorized service center in Polatlı, during the installation process of my LG PC18SQ air conditioner, as well as the negative and misleading statements made about the LG brand throughout this process. For my initial appointment, I spoke directly with Mr. Ümit Şahin, the owner of Hobi Elektronik. After his on-site inspection, he stated that there was no suitable location for installation, claimed that a crane would be required, or alternatively that I would need to have a mounting stand built on a more distant column. In addition, he openly criticized the LG brand by saying, “Why did you buy LG? There were better and cheaper options. I also provide service for TCL,” and attempted to promote a competing brand instead. This statement was not made by a regular employee, but by LG’s authorized partner at that location, Mr. Ümit Şahin himself—someone who represents LG, operates under the LG sign, and earns income through the LG brand, yet actively promotes a rival product. He also told me that I had purchased the air conditioner incorrectly and that I should have first paid them for a preliminary inspection, after which they would decide whether I should buy the product. He further claimed that additional copper piping would be required and that, because it was the off-season, they would not be able to source copper pipes. Despite all this, I personally obtained the copper piping and had a stand built. However, the service still did not come to perform the installation. As a result, I contacted another LG-authorized service center from a different region, and they completed the installation smoothly and professionally, without requiring any additional copper piping or a mounting stand. Due to the misleading guidance, unnecessary expenses, time loss, and negative remarks about the LG brand made by Polatlı Hobi Elektronik, and especially by its owner Mr. Ümit Şahin, I respectfully request that this service center be thoroughly investigated and audited by LG. I also expect LG to take the necessary corrective actions to ensure that other customers do not experience the same situation I did.
