If your crypto transaction from Ledger is taking a long time to confirm, follow these steps:
Check the status on a blockchain explorer.
In Ledger Live, copy the TXID and paste it into the official explorer for that network (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). If it shows as “pending,” it’s waiting in the mempool.
Low fees are the most common cause.
If you selected a low fee, miners/validators prioritize other transactions first. During high network congestion, confirmation may take hours or longer.
For Bitcoin — use Replace-By-Fee (RBF).
If RBF was enabled, you can resend the transaction with a higher fee in Ledger Live to speed it up.
For Ethereum — use “Speed Up.”
You can resend the transaction with the same nonce and a higher gas fee. Ledger Live may offer a “Speed up” option, or you can connect Ledger to MetaMask to do this.
If stuck too long:
On Ethereum, you can replace or cancel using the same nonce. On Bitcoin, cancellation isn’t guaranteed, but it may drop from the mempool.
These are key methods that we can offer. If you have more, please share.
