Varta 100 Ah Battery Fails on BMW E60 Just Weeks After Warranty Expiration

On June 20, 2024, I purchased a 100 Ah Varta battery with a 2-year warranty for my BMW E60 from Ankara Şaşmaz Aküpark. On August 7, 2026—just six weeks after the formal warranty period expired—the battery experienced a critical failure, leaving my vehicle completely unable to start.

Technical checks indicate that while the battery shows a static resting voltage of 12.4 V, the voltage drops catastrophically under load during engine cranking, rendering it incapable of turning over the starter motor. Despite this premature internal failure occurring right at the end of the warranty window, both the seller (Ankara Şaşmaz Aküpark) and Varta authorized service refused to perform even a basic technical evaluation, dismissing the issue solely based on calendar expiration.

Choosing a premium brand like Varta is based on expectations of durability and long-term reliability. A high-capacity 100 Ah battery suffering cell failure immediately after the warranty period points to premature degradation rather than standard wear and tear.

I demand that Varta corporate technical services inspect this battery under their goodwill policy (iyi niyet garantisi) and issue a replacement unit to resolve this hardship and uphold brand reliability.
