Kuveyt Türk Forces Pension Enrollment and Seizes Customer Funds

While taking out an auto loan through the Kuveyt Türk Bank Sivas branch, I was effectively required to enroll in a private pension system (BES) gold fund offered by Katılım Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş., a Kuveyt Türk subsidiary, in order to receive a “favorable loan interest rate.” As a result, I was forced to sign a pension contract. My individual pension contract number is 10643546. I logged into the system on November 27, 2025, but after approximately three months, I saw that due to gold buy-sell spreads and the fund’s performance, it provided no meaningful return. Therefore, on February 3, 2026, I submitted a request to exit the system. I communicated my withdrawal request by calling customer service, and afterward I was contacted by phone and informed that an “unwaived entry fee deduction” would be applied and that no refund would be issued. As a result of this process, I was charged a debt of approximately $295 USD, and the accumulated balance of approximately $62 USD in my account was entirely confiscated, with no refund issued, as confirmed to me by email. I do not find it fair or reasonable that when exiting a BES contract that was effectively mandatory for loan approval, such a large entry fee deduction is imposed in such a short time and that my entire accumulated savings are seized. I request that both the practice of making the loan conditional upon enrolling in BES and the excessive deduction applied upon exit be reconsidered, that the unjust entry fee deduction be canceled, and that all amounts collected from me, including my accumulated savings, be fully refunded.
