Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream Phase Separation Issue

In September 2023, I purchased two jars of Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream. One jar exhibited phase separation, but I initially assumed this was the product’s normal texture and used it after stirring. Over time, however, the cream became impossible to mix, rendering it unusable. The second jar is unopened, but since it has the same lot number, I suspect it may have the same issue.

When I contacted customer service, I was informed that the separation was due to a formula change in that specific lot. Shockingly, the product had been stored for 14 months before being sold to me, with no warning about this known issue. After using the product for 16 months, I was told it had expired due to my usage timeline.

This is unacceptable, as the manufacturer was aware of the defect but failed to issue a recall or notify consumers. I am now left with one unopened jar and another half-used, both unusable. I am requesting an immediate replacement for both jars. The lack of quality control and transparency damages the brand’s credibility and has caused significant inconvenience to me as a loyal customer.
