Honda CBR 650R E-Clutch Repair Turns Into a Nightmare
My name is Süleyman F****, and I am the owner of a 2024 Honda CBR 650R motorcycle with license plate 34 NAK 112. My motorcycle only has 7,000 kilometers on it and is still under warranty. I brought it to Mutluhan Honda authorized service center in Istanbul due to an e-clutch malfunction. I was told that the clutch plate was worn out and needed to be replaced, and that the parts alone would cost $220.
The real problem, however, came down to the labor charge they quoted me. Mutluhan Honda demanded $275 in labor fees. When I reached out to other authorized Honda service centers, they told me the same job would run between $110 and $138 in labor — no negotiation needed. In other words, Mutluhan Honda is charging roughly twice the going rate compared to other authorized dealers, which I consider both excessive and unethical.
When I told them I wasn't willing to have the work done under those conditions and asked to take my motorcycle back, I was told I would have to pay $138 just to retrieve it — and I was also subtly threatened with being reported. At this point, I'm being asked to pay money I don't owe, my motorcycle's problem still hasn't been fixed, and I can't even get my bike back from the service center.
When I contacted Honda customer service about this, I was essentially told that the service center's pricing is not Honda's concern. I feel wronged by both the authorized service center and the brand itself.
I'm therefore requesting that Mutluhan Honda's labor charge be brought in line with what other Honda authorized service centers charge, that this unfair and excessive pricing practice be brought to an end, and that my motorcycle be repaired at a reasonable and transparent price.
