Hintapp Charged Monthly After One-Off Soulmate Sketch Purchase
I live in the UK and I am writing about four payments of £29.99 each that were taken via PayPal by a company called “Hintapp”. These payments were taken monthly, starting around February, and were linked to my PayPal account under the email address donnaa***@gmail.com. I never knowingly subscribed to a £29.99 monthly service. I only bought a one‑off “sketch of my soulmate” for £1, and after that purchase Hintapp started charging me £29.99 per month without my clear consent or understanding that I was entering into a subscription. I raised a case with PayPal about these unauthorised or unclear recurring payments. However, PayPal has now closed the case and denied my claim, stating that I supposedly subscribed to the service. I completely disagree with this, because my intention was only to make a single £1 purchase, not to enter into an ongoing £29.99 monthly subscription. I also tried to contact Hintapp directly, but I got nowhere and was not given any meaningful help or resolution. I request that all four £29.99 payments taken by Hintapp be fully refunded to me, that any existing subscription or recurring payment mandate be cancelled immediately, and that PayPal’s decision to close and deny my case be reviewed and corrected in my favour. I want this situation fully investigated, as I feel I have been charged for a subscription I did not knowingly agree to.
