I recently discovered that my Bank of America debit card ending in 7184 was used by Hintapp without my consent, even though I have never downloaded, installed, registered for, or used their app at any time. I first noticed a charge of $0.50 on 02/02/2026, and in total, they have taken $60.98 from my card in connection with Hintapp transactions, all of which are completely unauthorized. I contacted Bank of America about these online transactions, but I was informed that they would not take action because it was considered an online charge. Since then, I have been trying to resolve this directly with Hintapp. I have exchanged around 60 emails with them and received a reference number on Trustpilot (Ref LINDAB396773), but instead of resolving the situation, they have continued to avoid taking responsibility and have not provided a clear or satisfactory solution. In every email I sent to Hintapp, I clearly shared all relevant information, including screenshots from my Bank of America account showing the unauthorized charges. I am requesting a full refund of the total amount of $60.98 that Hintapp has taken from my card without my authorization. I also expect a clear written explanation of how my card was charged despite me never having downloaded or used the app, and I want confirmation that my card details have been fully removed from their systems so that no further unauthorized charges can be made.
