HalalBooking Misled Us: ‘Alcohol-Free’ Hotel Allowed Drinking, No Refund Given

We booked a stay through HalalBooking at Safranbolu Dadibra Konak, specifically because it was listed as an alcohol-free property. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be true.
Although the listing claimed to be alcohol-free, around 8:00 p.m., a group of about 10 guests set up a table and started drinking rakı (Turkish liquor) in the common area. The smell of alcohol was so strong that it reached our rooms.
We spoke with the hotel owner, reminding them that we had booked through HalalBooking and that this was supposed to be a non-alcoholic accommodation. The owner lied, saying:
“We don’t serve alcohol; our guests brought their own, and we just set the table for them.”
Because of this situation, my family and I had to leave the hotel at 11:00 p.m..
We believe HalalBooking is fully responsible for this experience. We trusted the platform, but now we deeply regret it.
We had to find another hotel late at night and never received a refund. When we contacted HalalBooking, they told us that no refund would be issued because “the alcohol was brought by the guests themselves, not provided by the hotel.”
