I Couldn’t Exchange My H&M Gift Even with Receipt Just Because It Was Bought Online
I’m very disappointed with H&M’s online order policy. A friend of mine gifted me an item purchased through H&M’s online store. Although the product came with a valid receipt, the store refused to process an exchange simply because it was an online purchase. Instead, they told me I needed to send the product back through my friend and have it returned via courier. This makes absolutely no sense.
What’s the point of shopping online if you make the process this inconvenient? Many other major brands offer exchange cards or allow in-store returns and exchanges for online orders without question. H&M, on the other hand, puts all the burden on the customer and shows no flexibility whatsoever.
Telling someone with a valid receipt to track down the gift-giver and send it back through them is not only illogical, it’s insulting. H&M’s policies are far from customer-friendly and create unnecessary stress. I expected a smooth, helpful experience, not this kind of runaround. This situation has caused a lot of inconvenience and wasted time.
I urge H&M to review its return/exchange procedures and offer a more reasonable, user-focused approach. Shopping online with H&M has turned into a regret, and I advise others to be cautious to avoid similar frustration.
