Google Pay Double Charge for Istanbul Business Institute Course
On August 15, 2026, I attempted to purchase an online certificate for the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) course through the Istanbul Business Institute app using Google Pay. I tried to make the payment twice, but the app displayed a “Payment Failed” message both times and did not allow me to download the certificate. Despite these failed payment notifications, my VakıfBank credit card was charged twice, with each charge amounting to approximately $26, for a total of approximately $52.
When I contacted the institution offering the course by email, they sent me a different link and suggested that I purchase the certificate through that link. They also stated that they had not received the previous payments and that the transactions had most likely remained pending. I later contacted Google Pay by email to explain the situation, but they rejected my refund requests, stating that they did not comply with their refund policies. As a result, neither of the two amounts charged to my card has been refunded.
I request that the total amount of approximately $52 charged to my VakıfBank credit card despite the failed payment notifications be refunded as soon as possible. I also request clear written information explaining how this issue occurred and how it will be resolved.
