I Lost My Global Blue Tax Refund in Belgrade Because I Couldn't Show Items at Airport

During our trip to Belgrade, Serbia, we shopped with the expectation of receiving a tax refund, as we had all the receipts and the Global Blue app clearly displayed the eligible purchases and refund amounts. At the airport, we scanned the QR code at the tax refund kiosk, but the machine directed us to visit the customs office instead.
When we arrived at the customs counter, the female officer demanded to physically see the purchased items. Unfortunately, we had already checked our bags, and the items were in our luggage. As a result, our tax refund request was immediately rejected.
Despite everything being properly recorded in the Global Blue app and our receipts being in order, we were denied our refund simply because we couldn’t show the goods on the spot. It’s extremely frustrating to go through all the correct steps, only to be denied due to impractical procedures.
I demand that Global Blue offer a solution for situations like this. Not everyone is aware they must carry every single item in their hand luggage, and no one explained this requirement to us beforehand. Please review my case and ensure this unjustified loss is corrected.
