Flynas Charged Me $80 for My Baby’s Baggage Despite the Stated Allowance
On July 20, 2026, while traveling with my family from Medina to Trabzon on a Flynas flight (PNR: TJ96JE), I experienced serious mistreatment and disrespect at the check-in counter. Despite the fact that my ticket clearly stated my one-year-old daughter's applicable infant baggage allowance, the check-in agent completely disregarded it and forcibly charged me an additional $80 baggage fee.
Although I repeatedly tried to explain the situation, the agent appeared to deliberately take advantage of the language barrier, refused to listen to me, raised their voice, and humiliated both me and my family in front of other passengers. Because of this argument and what I believe was an arbitrary application of the baggage policy, my entire family was subjected to approximately an hour of unnecessary distress.
When I currently log into the Flynas mobile app, the system appears to have recognized the error, as my account shows “Amount Due: -$80” and messages indicating that an $80 credit will be added. In other words, the system itself appears to acknowledge that Flynas owes me the $80 that was improperly charged. Despite this, instead of refunding the amount to the credit card that was charged, Flynas is attempting to force me to accept a “Credit Shell” or flight voucher that I do not want and have no intention of using.
Under applicable international aviation rules and basic consumer rights, I request a full cash refund of the $80 that was improperly and arbitrarily charged to me, returned to the exact credit card that was charged. I do not accept points, vouchers, Credit Shells, or any other form of virtual credit as a substitute for a cash refund. I have documentation showing cumulative charges of approximately $480, along with screenshots showing that the system recognizes that Flynas owes me $80 and the relevant payment receipts.
Because of the disrespect and psychological distress I experienced during this incident, I request that the security camera footage from the check-in counter at that specific time be reviewed and that a formal disciplinary investigation be initiated regarding the employee involved for humiliating a passenger, taking advantage of a language barrier, and failing to properly apply or record the infant baggage allowance. I would also like to make it clear that I am considering filing a complaint with the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and, if necessary, disputing the charge with my bank through a chargeback.
I expect Flynas to promptly correct this clear error and address the inconvenience and mistreatment I experienced, refund the $80 directly to the credit card that was charged, and provide me with written confirmation that the appropriate administrative action has been taken regarding the employee involved.
