Febi Chain Tensioner Failure Caused Engine Issues and Shook My Trust in Their Parts
A constant knocking noise and possible timing problems necessitated a recent inspection of my car's engine. As I took the engine apart, I saw that the Febi chain tensioner was broken. The chain slammed through its running cycle because the tensioner was not applying the required pressure. Because of the slack chain, even the balance shaft was bouncing, which would have caused serious harm. It still amazes me that the crankshaft and camshaft are in their proper places, and I'm relieved that the valves were unharmed. My faith in Febi components has been shaken by the situation involving the defective tensioner, which has wasted a lot of resources.
