Farmina Cat Food Contained Suspicious Kibble and Raised Authenticity Concerns
On May 8, I ordered Farmina N&D Tropical Selection Lamb & Tropical Fruits for Sterilized Cats from Amazon using the "Buy Again" option. The seller was tmc Akvaryum, from whom I had previously purchased the same product several times. About a week after receiving the package, I opened it and discovered that it contained large pieces of kibble resembling dog food mixed in with the cat food. As someone who has relied primarily on Farmina N&D products for both my cats and my dog for a long time, this was the first time I had serious concerns about the product's authenticity.
As soon as I noticed the mixed kibble, I photographed it and contacted both Farmina and the seller through Amazon, but I never received a response. I then tried calling Farmina Türkiye every day, but I was never able to reach anyone because my calls went unanswered. Eventually, after corresponding with Farmina, I provided the lot number and photographs. They asked me to send the bag for inspection while it was still approximately 80% full.
However, I paid approximately $84 for this pet food, and I have two cats and one dog at home. Before offering any clear solution or temporary assistance, the company expected me to send back the product for inspection without providing any alternative for feeding my pets during the process. Since I could not afford to purchase another bag of the same food, I was unable to comply with that request and had no choice but to continue using the product.
I am deeply disappointed by the lack of communication throughout this process, and my trust in the brand has been seriously damaged. I am not requesting a refund. Instead, I ask that my concerns be addressed by providing a new, sealed package of pet food that I can be confident is genuine, even if it is not the same size as the original purchase. I also request that the company conduct a thorough quality control investigation of this production batch and provide me with a written explanation of its findings to help ensure that similar issues do not occur again.
