During this whole thing, I did everything Facebook told me to do and searched their help pages like crazy to try and fix it. The last step of getting my account back is sending a verification code to the email address that the person who took over my account added. It's pretty weird, right? It's like a crazy Catch-22 situation, making all my attempts to get control back totally pointless.
