I Was Tricked into Depositing ₺3218 in Exodus Wallet After Fake Old Account Claim
On February 20, 2025, I received a call from someone claiming I had an old investment account dating back to 2021 with a remaining balance. I honestly had no memory of such an account, but they convinced me that the funds were mine and needed to be returned. They then guided me to open a wallet on an app called “Exodes,” which appears to be a variation or misuse of the Exodus Wallet name.
Shortly after, they deposited $3218 into the account, but the amount was immediately frozen. When I asked why the funds were blocked, they told me I had to verify my identity by submitting a photo of my ID. On top of that, they insisted that I must invest an additional 40% of the transferred amount in order to lift the block and access the funds.
This feels like a textbook scam exploiting the Exodus name. I was misled into thinking I was recovering old funds, only to be asked for even more money. I demand that this situation be investigated immediately and that the block be lifted without requiring further payments. I expect Exodus to clarify whether this app is officially affiliated and to help resolve this serious issue.
