Dyson V15 Battery Failure Again After Replacement Battery Purchase
In 2021, I purchased a Dyson V15 vacuum cleaner for ₺7,500. After about three years of use, in 2024, I experienced a battery failure and had to replace the battery at my own expense. I obtained this new battery in November 2024 and paid ₺5,500 for it. However, on 08.06.2026, the same battery problem occurred again with this replacement battery. When I contacted the Dyson solution center in Istanbul on 08.06.2026, I was told in a video call that I needed to buy a new battery again, that the battery I had purchased had only a 1‑year warranty, and that nothing could be done for me. Currently, the market value of the Dyson V15 is around ₺30,000 and I am now being asked to pay another ₺5,500 for a second replacement battery, which would bring the total battery cost to ₺11,000, almost at the level of buying a new vacuum cleaner. I do not find it normal that the same fault recurs in such a short period of time. I consider it highly victimizing for the consumer that the batteries fail so frequently and that the spare battery is covered by only a 1‑year warranty. The fact that the Dyson solution center approaches the issue merely with the attitude of “the warranty is over, we cannot do anything” has seriously shaken my trust in the brand. Taking into account this recurring battery problem, I kindly request Dyson to show goodwill and replace my battery free of charge. I also request that the cause of these short‑lived battery failures be examined and that the necessary steps be taken to prevent similar grievances for other consumers in the future.
