Dell Laptop Overheated From the First Day
About six months ago, I purchased a Dell laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor in Kosovo. From the very first day I owned it, the laptop developed noticeable overheating after only about 15 minutes of use. Because of this, I rarely used the device. Most of the time it remained in its box at home, and the constant overheating made me lose confidence in using it.
Due to my work schedule, I was only able to take the laptop to a service center in Türkiye on June 8, 2026. I brought it to the Electrofoni Dell Authorized Service Center in Osmangazi, Bursa. After inspecting the device, the service center claimed that it had liquid damage and corrosion and also stated that it had been left plugged in for excessive periods. Based on those findings, I was asked to pay approximately $175 for the repair. I strongly disagree with this assessment. The overheating problem existed from the day I purchased the laptop. Because I am not a technical expert, I initially assumed the excessive heat might be normal. In total, I powered on the laptop no more than four times, and each session was cut short because it became too hot. It is difficult for me to believe that a laptop that spent nearly all of its time stored in its box and was barely used could legitimately develop liquid damage and corrosion. This makes me believe the device may have been defective from the beginning.
I do not accept being held responsible for a problem that started on the first day of ownership or being charged for damage that I do not believe I caused. I respectfully request that Dell either replace my laptop free of charge or repair it at no cost so that it is restored to proper working condition without defects.
