Dell G15 5500 Persistent Hinge Issue
Hello,
I've been a Dell G15 5500 owner since 2021, and I'm still experiencing chronic issues with the product. Shortly after purchasing, about 4-5 months in, due to what I believe is a chronic problem with the chassis, the hinge on the lid puts so much strain on the case that it feels like the keyboard area could break. I've sent it to service twice for this issue. The first time, in addition to the hinge problem, there were scratches on the screen due to the keyboard keys. The second time, there were both screen scratches and a Wi-Fi issue (affected because Wi-Fi is on the screen). Now, the machine runs, but there's no display on the screen. It indicates a cable malfunction. I've checked and there are no issues with the connections. It went to service last in November, reaching its 6-month deadline, and the first mentioned keyboard-screen connection issue started acting up again. Unfortunately, the company hasn't provided a permanent solution. Even the last time I sent it (within warranty), I requested them to solve this issue permanently, but to no avail. As I mentioned, this issue is chronic because later models of the G15 have significantly changed the Panel-Lower case connection. It could result in the case breaking eventually. I am determined about this matter. Either make the product problem-free at 6-month intervals or allow me to exchange it for a model with a solid Panel-Case connection, with a price difference. Depending on the solution, I will resort to my legal rights. I'm really fed up now...
I am taking the matter to the Consumer Court. For your information...
