Bugs Found Inside CVS Ondansetron Prescription Medication

4

On June 22, 2026, I received a prescription for Ondansetron 4 mg from the CVS Pharmacy located at 222 Carrillo St., Santa Barbara, CA (phone: +1 805 965 9***). When I checked the medication, I discovered there were bugs inside the prescription, which is completely unacceptable and made me very concerned about the hygiene and storage conditions at this pharmacy. I immediately brought the medication back to the pharmacy and informed the staff about the bugs in the prescription. Instead of addressing the seriousness of the situation, I was simply told to stand back in line. I had to return to work and could not wait, so I left the prescription on the counter and left the store, without any solution being provided to me at that time. I request that CVS replace this medication and change it from tablet form to sublingual form, as the sublingual tablets are pre‑packaged individually and would reduce the risk of contamination. I also expect this incident to be taken seriously, the hygiene and storage conditions at this branch to be investigated, and for CVS to ensure that similar issues do not occur again for me or other customers.
