I Report Rear Shock Absorber Oil Leak on Cupra Leon and Warranty Denial

I purchased my 2023 model Cupra Leon and recently noticed excessive oil leakage in the rear left shock absorber, prompting me to take it to the authorized service center. Upon inspection, the service confirmed that the oil leak was beyond normal levels, and assured me the issue would be escalated to the central office. I waited for a month with no response.

When I followed up, I was told the issue was considered outside of warranty, supposedly due to wear on the lower components like seals. More frustratingly, it was claimed to be user error—even though I drive only in city conditions, carefully and on smooth roads. Why would such an issue only occur in the rear shock, not the front, if I’m truly at fault?

To make matters worse, my vehicle also suffers from intermittent screen blackouts, touch-light malfunctions, and visual interface glitches, all waved off as “pending software updates.” I’ve already been in for multiple updates, yet each time I’m told to come back when the next patch is available—no real resolution offered.

As for the shock absorber, they offered a “goodwill discount”—reducing the ₺19,500 replacement fee to ₺12,500—instead of admitting a manufacturing or quality defect. This is completely unacceptable for a vehicle with only 22,000 km of use. Hiding behind a vague “goodwill” gesture doesn’t solve the underlying issue of part failure in a 2-year-old car.

Adding to the disappointment, I noticed that service records were falsely completed, claiming maintenance was performed when it wasn’t. This is highly unethical and erodes my trust in both the Cupra brand and its authorized service network.

I demand that the shock absorber be replaced under warranty, and that a transparent investigation be conducted into the software issues and false service entries. This matter has caused me emotional stress and financial concern.
