Cathay Pacific's Asia Miles are about to expire — how can I extend them?

Since 2020, Cathay Pacific's Asia Miles use an activity-based expiration system. Your miles remain valid as long as there is at least one qualifying earning or redemption transaction in your account every 18 months.

If your miles are close to expiring, the easiest solution is to earn or redeem a small number of miles. This can be done through a partner purchase, a credit card points transfer, a flight redemption, a shopping redemption, or another qualifying transaction that generates account activity. Any eligible activity resets the expiration clock for your entire balance.

If your miles have already expired, Cathay generally does not allow them to be reinstated, so it is important to create qualifying activity before the expiration date passes.

Check your account's mileage expiry information and complete an eligible transaction as soon as possible if the deadline is approaching.

This is the information we have, but if you have more insights from your experience, please share in the comments.
