CarTrawler Refuses $162 Refund After Undisclosed Terms Block Rental Pickup

On February 14, 2026, I rented a car from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport through Pegasus Airlines via CarTrawler. My reservation reference number was TR936023730, and the confirmation number was 4512137. The booked vehicle was a Citroën C3 or a similar economy-class car. At no point during the booking process did the system clearly or explicitly inform me about mandatory requirements, such as presenting an international flight ticket or a credit card.

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the counter staff informed me that an international flight ticket and a credit card were required to release the car. Because the rental agreement did not state these terms, I could not take delivery of the car, and the rental never occurred. Despite this, I received no refund for the $162 charged to my card.

Instead of assisting me, the counter employees passed the buck, telling me to resolve everything online. They directed me to CarTrawler’s website, but because the site was in English, I could not navigate the required refund steps, received no guidance, and got zero support. Once it became clear that I could not pick up the car, the Sabiha Gökçen staff stopped responding to my messages, offered no explanation, and completely ignored the situation.

I am requesting a full refund of the $162 charged to my account, as I never received or drove the vehicle. I was unfairly penalized by undisclosed requirements prior to booking, and withholding a refund for a service never rendered is completely unjust. I request an immediate resolution to this issue and a full refund.
