Busuu Subscription Charge Without Consent
While browsing the internet through my Türk Telekom mobile line, a Busuu language learning service subscription was started in the background without any explicit consent, informed approval or SMS code verification from my side. I noticed the situation only after the fee had been reflected on my bill, and I cancelled the subscription immediately. Following the cancellation, I received an SMS stating that I could continue to use the Busuu service until 14/11/2026, which shows that the subscription had been activated and charged in advance without my clear approval. I contacted Türk Telekom customer service about this issue, but my grievance has not been resolved and no refund has been provided. No responsibility has been accepted for a subscription that was initiated without my will and for the unjust deduction that has been charged to my bill in advance. I am complaining about the fact that the Busuu platform does not operate its consent and confirmation mechanisms transparently, and that Türk Telekom has reflected this fee on my invoice without adequately protecting the line owner’s security and explicit consent. Before I escalate the matter to the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and the Consumer Arbitration Committee to protect my consumer rights, I request that this membership fee, which has been collected without my explicit and informed consent, be immediately cancelled and fully refunded to my line or deducted from my invoice.
