Bridgestone Sold Me a Defective Winter Tire That Ruptured While Driving

On January 5, 2025, I purchased a Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 Winter Tire from your Antalya Yalım Petrol dealer. However, today (January 25, 2025) while driving on the Bursa-Karacabey highway, the rear-right tire suddenly ruptured without any apparent reason. This caused my car to almost skid out of control, putting me and my family in great danger. My children were in the car, and we narrowly avoided a serious accident. Following this incident, I contacted the dealer where I purchased the tire, and they directed me to reach out to Bridgestone’s authorized service. I immediately contacted Bridgestone Customer Service, explained the situation, and requested urgent assistance. However, I was informed that I must deliver the damaged tire to the dealer and wait for up to 20 business days for a response. Currently, I am forced to use a summer tire as a spare, which is unsafe and inadequate for winter conditions. On Sunday, I must travel to Uludağ, and it is impossible for me to drive safely in snow and ice with this tire. It is unacceptable for your company to disregard such a critical issue and fail to provide an immediate solution. How am I supposed to manage for 20 days without a proper tire? I urgently demand that you either provide me with a replacement winter tire or issue a refund immediately. This situation not only jeopardizes my safety but has also caused significant inconvenience and stress for my family. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will be left with no choice but to take legal action and share my experience publicly. I request that you take responsibility for your defective product and resolve my issue without further delay. Sincerely, İbrahim K***
The Bridgestone winter tire I bought 25 days ago split on a straight road. It endangered the safety of my family and myself. The tire split from the side... It caused me a lot of trouble. I will never buy this brand again, I don't even want to hear its name because they did not stand behind the product they sold... There is no goodwill, an attitude that does not suit the culture of trade. I delivered it to their dealers for warranty, asking them to investigate the possibility that the product might be defective and to resolve my grievance, but unfortunately, their response was a ready-made template. They said it was caused by contact with a hard object and that they couldn't offer a refund or exchange... I had to buy a new one the day the tire split. I definitely do not recommend the Bridgestone brand to anyone around me.
