Bosch Refrigerator Is A Regret!
On December 16, 2024, we purchased a Bosch KGA76PIF0N refrigerator, choosing the Bosch brand for its reputation of durability, reliability, and long-lasting performance. Unfortunately, it has caused nothing but disappointment since day one. The so-called “Fresh Fog System,” designed to preserve produce, instead caused all our fruits and vegetables to freeze. When we contacted customer service, we were told this was expected due to water vapor and that we should wipe the compartment daily with a paper napkin—hardly a solution for a premium feature we specifically paid extra for. We eventually stopped using that section entirely. More recently, the refrigerator stopped cooling altogether. The service technician found the fan and related parts were iced over, cleaned them, charged us ₺700, and got it working—only for the same issue to happen again within days. It's likely frozen again, rendering the fridge inoperable once more. Despite the high price, this Bosch refrigerator fails to perform its most basic function, let alone deliver on its advanced features. The service will likely return, charge another ₺700, and blame us for something absurd like leaving the door open—something we absolutely did not do. A product that looks good on paper but fails in everyday use is unacceptable. I demand that this defective refrigerator be replaced with a new one, and if the same problem occurs again, I will insist on a full refund.
Progress
In my previous complaint, I mentioned the problem I experienced with my Bosch KGA76PIF0N model refrigerator. An employee from the authorized service, who was supposed to solve the problem, asked us to empty all the products from the refrigerator, and we had to throw away deli and frozen products worth thousands of liras. Since we live in Bodrum, there is no cold place where we can store products that need to be kept in the refrigerator. The service came and restarted the refrigerator, placed thermometers in several spots, monitored it remotely for 3-4 days, and then left saying 'There is no malfunction, see, it’s working.' He also added that the malfunction was caused by 'leaving the door open or putting too many products in the refrigerator,' thus making it seem like there was no problem with the refrigerator.
However, less than two months later, we encountered exactly the same problem again. I regret the day I bought this product; I wish my car tire had blown out and I hadn’t gone to the Bosch dealer. The refrigerator only has two options: it either freezes everything you put inside, or it doesn’t cool at all. In short, it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. As can be seen from the photos I will attach below, all the products we put in the vegetable drawer are freezing. Even the pickle juice in the glass jar on the top shelf froze. The refrigerator, which froze the water in the jar in the cooling compartment, suddenly stopped working again, and now the inside of the refrigerator is 19 degrees! Yes, 19 degrees! Once again, all the cheese, butter, and frozen products we paid so much for will go to waste.
My requests: All malfunction records made with Bosch Authorized Service to be sent to me. With this information, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Board and request a refund for this product, which I bought for 42,500 TL in December 2024, is currently 55,799 TL on shopping sites, but has been discontinued on Bosch’s own site. I want to buy an Altus brand refrigerator for 20,000 TL and have a problem-free experience.
The relevant person managed the process very well. The friend at the technical service also did his best. The employees are great, but as a result, we could not meet Bosch's 'standards.' I guess we will only be able to meet these standards by not filling the refrigerator 'too much,' not opening the door frequently, and moving it from a hot and humid area to a drier and cooler place.
When they last came, they said there was an electrical problem and told me I needed to buy a voltage regulator. They claimed that if the electrical issue was resolved, both the freezing and the cooling problems would be fixed. I bought a regulator suitable for the refrigerator's electricity consumption on June 21, 2025 (1816 TL). After having it installed, the freezing issue in the vegetable compartment was not resolved. Whatever I put in there kept freezing. Okay, I thought at least it was cooling properly, but as of today, that stopped as well. The fourth service intervention also didn’t work. Let’s see what they’ll say and what excuse they’ll come up with next time. I also requested my service record for the second time. If they don’t send it again this time, things will get complicated... When they do send it, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and make them take the product back, and instead of Bosch, I’ll go and buy a much cheaper brand—at least one without problems!
