BlaBlaCar's Price Cap Doesn't Cover Rising Fuel and Toll Costs
I've been driving the Istanbul–Aydın route on BlaBlaCar for a long time, and I'm experiencing serious financial strain because of the platform's price cap. Despite rising fuel, bridge, and highway toll costs, the system's maximum price limit of $17 is absolutely insufficient for this distance under current conditions here. With fuel prices and other road expenses this high, being forced to charge no more than $17 for a roughly 600 km trip doesn't support drivers at all. Offering a comfortable ride in a vehicle worth around $116,000 while being unable to fully cover road expenses becomes inevitable under these conditions. I'm someone who drives very frequently, and my goal isn't to make a profit — it's simply to cover my costs without taking a loss. For this reason, I'm requesting that BlaBlaCar review its pricing policy in light of current local conditions and raise the maximum price cap, especially for long-distance trips. I believe this adjustment needs to be made urgently, both so drivers can offer the service without losing money and so passengers can continue to travel safely and comfortably.
