Arçelik Sold Me a Faulty 2498 CNIY Fridge Twice in a Row

I’ve been an Arçelik customer for years, and all the white goods in my home are from this brand. However, my experience with their refrigerators has turned into a complete disappointment. In 2012, I purchased an Arçelik 2398 CNIY A++ model refrigerator. In 2017, the unit developed a problem with internal gas accumulation and swelling in the body. The service team declared it “beyond repair” and replaced the unit. I paid an additional ₺1,250 and received the 2498 CNIY A++ model. Now it’s 2025, and I’m facing the exact same issue with the same brand and series: swelling in the body and cooling failure. The service acknowledged the issue verbally but:
– did not provide a written report
– did not conduct a free test
– demanded a fee for a gas test
– and offered me a new refrigerator only if I paid an extra ₺25,000
This is no longer a coincidence—it’s clearly a systematic manufacturing defect. I shouldn’t have to replace my refrigerator every 5 years. I expect the company to stand behind the money I paid and the trust I placed in the brand. I’ve submitted my application to the Consumer Arbitration Board. Now I leave it to Arçelik to decide: Am I in the wrong, or is there something seriously wrong with this system?
