2020 MacBook Air M1 Broke 1 Month After Warranty – No Damage or Misuse
My 2020 MacBook Air with the M1 chip stopped working just one month after the warranty expired, without any reason. There was no drop, impact, shaking, or liquid damage, and the laptop’s casing shows no signs of wear. I’ve used it very lightly, and yet it still broke. I simply closed the lid as usual, went to the kitchen, and when I came back, it wouldn’t open again.
It seems like Apple might be engaging in planned obsolescence, as there are thousands of complaints similar to mine. Many people have reported that their lightly used MacBooks fail and then face repair costs nearly as high as the computer’s original price. From what I’ve read, Apple doesn’t seem to address these issues, so I hope anyone considering buying a 2020 MacBook Air M1 or later models reads this first.
