Fraudulent Activity On My Amazon Account
I am writing to report that my Amazon.com account appears to have been hacked, and I can no longer access it because both the email address and password on the account were changed without my authorization. This morning, I received an order confirmation email for an Apple AirPods Pro 3 Wireless Earbuds purchase totaling $218.30, including tax, with Order #111-2177191-1099403. The order shows as being delivered today to “Susan” in Monterey Park, CA, even though I live in Illinois and did not place this order. My original email on the account was snydersus***@gmail.com, and it has been changed to SerenF***[email protected] without my consent, along with the password. I tried to resolve this through Amazon’s online help, but I have not been able to reach a live person. The automated system keeps asking me to verify my account through email and password, which I cannot do because the credentials were changed by the hacker. At one point, someone from Amazon did call me, but I could not understand what he was saying, he became upset when I asked for clarification, and I was still unable to get any help or secure my account. At the moment, I am completely locked out of my account and unable to secure it or dispute this unauthorized order. I am writing from Mt. Sterling, IL, and my Amazon account is registered to my home address in Roodhouse, IL. I urgently request that my account be secured and returned to my control, that the unauthorized order for $218.30 be canceled or fully refunded, and that any other unauthorized activity on my account be reviewed and removed. I also ask that any payment methods associated with my account be protected against further unauthorized use. I would appreciate a prompt investigation and written confirmation once my account is restored, the fraudulent order is handled, and my data and payment methods are secured.
