Email Hacked On My Amazon Account
I am writing regarding a serious security and billing issue with my Amazon.com account associated with the email address dsears***@yahoo.com. Around two weeks ago, I received an email from Amazon stating that my email address had been successfully updated. I did not request or authorize any change to my email, which is when I realized my account had likely been hacked. Shortly after this, I checked my bank account and saw an Amazon charge of $646.58. The transaction took place on 09/21/2026 and cleared my bank account on 09/24/2026. I then received an email confirming an order for two farmhouse end tables, which I did not place or authorize. I replied directly to the order email asking for the order to be cancelled and clearly stating that I did not place this order and that my account had been compromised. However, I have been unable to log into my Amazon account since then, because I can no longer verify my account and my access appears to be blocked or changed due to the hacked email. This has made it extremely difficult to get proper support. I have been trying to reach Amazon for help, but so far I have not received a real solution. I did manage to speak with a representative by phone on Wednesday, but the phone number they gave me to submit my complaint turned out to be a debt collector’s number, which is completely unrelated to my issue and left me even more frustrated and without assistance. At the moment, my main concerns are the unauthorized charge of $646.58 for the two farmhouse end tables, the fact that I cannot access my original account where my Amazon Prime membership is attached, and the risk that other credit cards previously linked to my Amazon account may also be exposed and misused. I am prepared to provide screenshots of the email about the changed address and the unauthorized order and charge by email if needed. I request that Amazon urgently investigates this account takeover, restores my access to my original Amazon.com account with my existing Prime membership, secures my account and all associated data and payment methods, cancels and fully refunds the unauthorized order of $646.58, and confirms in writing that any other unauthorized activity on my account has been checked and resolved. As soon as my access is restored, I will immediately change my password and carefully review and update all linked payment cards for my own security. I expect this matter to be treated as a priority security issue and look forward to a prompt solution.
