Amazon UK Account Blocked for 6 Weeks After Fraudulent US Orders
My long-standing UK Amazon account has been blocked for about six weeks and I am currently unable to place any orders or use my Kindle and Alexa devices properly, as they are all linked to this blocked account. The root of the problem appears to be fraud involving purchases made in the USA. Initially, someone used my card details in the USA, but that matter was resolved with my bank and the money was recovered. I then cancelled that card, registered a new card and asked for all future transactions to be validated through my bank. Despite this, further orders have been placed in Portland, USA using a card that does not belong to me but with my address being used, and I have even received photographs showing deliveries left on various doorsteps there. Since then, when I try to log in to Amazon, I am redirected to another account supposedly in the USA, which does not belong to me and which I have never opened. As a result, my genuine UK account appears to be blocked and I am effectively locked out of all normal use. I have contacted Amazon customer service around 12 times about this situation. Each time I am told that the issue will be resolved within 24 hours, yet nothing changes and my account remains blocked. I am extremely frustrated that despite clearly being the victim of fraud, my access is still restricted and I receive only generic assurances instead of a real solution. I request that Amazon urgently reinstates my legitimate UK account, fully separates or closes any US account that has been wrongly linked to my details, and carries out a proper security investigation into the fraudulent activity in Portland, USA. I would also like a clear written explanation of what has happened and what measures will be taken to prevent this from recurring, so that I can safely use my Amazon, Kindle and Alexa services again.
