On Sunday, April 5, 2026, during your flight VF1990 from London (STN) to Istanbul (SAW) at 4:00 PM, I experienced a serious issue regarding cabin baggage. Although my ticket clearly included a cabin baggage allowance, my suitcase was not accepted at the airport before boarding. When I placed my suitcase in the baggage sizer, it did not fully fit due to approximately a 2 cm difference in the wheel, even though the depth fit comfortably (as shown in my photos).
I explained multiple times to your staff that my suitcase is within standard cabin size limits and that I have been using the same suitcase for years on similar flights without any issues. I also pointed out that charging an additional fee for such a minimal difference is unfair. Despite this, I was required to pay an extra $80 as a penalty/extra baggage fee.
The payment receipt was sent to me via email, and I have also kept all related photos as evidence. After the flight, I submitted a detailed complaint via email, but I have not received any response, which has further increased my dissatisfaction.
Considering that suitcases are manufactured according to standard dimensions and not arbitrarily, I find it unacceptable to be charged such an amount due to a minor 1–2 cm wheel difference. I request that this issue be reviewed, that your cabin baggage policy be reconsidered in borderline cases like this to avoid penalizing passengers, and that the $80 fee charged to me be refunded.
