AJet Refused Cash and Debit Card, Leaving Passenger Without Food or Water
My 16.5-year-old daughter traveled alone with AJet on January 17, 2026, on flight VF105 with PNR number 3BLPB3, on the 12:35 Sabiha Gökçen – Basel route. The flight lasted approximately three hours, and she was traveling by herself. She had cash and a debit card with her.
During the flight, when she became hungry and thirsty and wanted to purchase food and drinks, neither cash nor her debit card was accepted. As a result, she had to endure the entire three-hour flight hungry and without water, and she contacted me, her mother, immediately after landing. Allowing someone of this age—indeed, of any age—to remain hungry and thirsty during a flight, and failing to offer any alternative by the cabin crew, is unethical and inhumane.
My daughter’s return flight is also scheduled with the same airline on February 1, and I am extremely concerned. I do not want her to fly under similar conditions with the same airline again. I want both the public and the company to be aware of this situation. I am filing a formal complaint.
I expect compensation, a formal apology, and a change in procedures to be implemented before her return flight.
