Airbnb Montreal Rental Review with Dog and Cat Issues

I booked a one-day stay in Montreal through Airbnb. Upon arrival, I attempted to unlock the door with the provided code, only to be met by a barking dog standing right inside the doorway. I couldn’t enter the property. After messaging the host, the dog was removed, but once inside, the issues continued. The dog kept barking, and a cat repeatedly tried to enter my room whenever I opened the door.

The bathroom light didn’t work, the room was tiny and cluttered, and there was barely any space to move. It was far from the peaceful and comfortable environment I expected. I immediately booked another property through Airbnb, which was much better. However, when I requested a refund for the first rental, Airbnb refused, prioritizing the host and their commission over the renter’s experience. This lack of support is unacceptable. I demand a refund for the unlivable conditions.
