Airbnb Host’s False Smoking Claim Led to Unjust €300 Cleaning Fee Request
On August 20, 2025, we stayed one night at a property in Toulouse, France. After leaving, we received an invoice from Toulouse Rose Conciergerie claiming that we had smoked inside the property and demanding an additional cleaning fee of over €300. This accusation is completely false, as none of us are smokers, and we even informed Airbnb that we are willing to prove it, including through a medical test if necessary. Despite the lack of any concrete evidence, we were told that this charge would still be applied. We submitted multiple objections to Airbnb customer service, but none of them were properly considered, and we were repeatedly ignored. Through further research, we discovered that this company also operates as a cleaning service provider, and similar complaints have been raised by other guests, suggesting a pattern of unjustified claims. While no payment has yet been taken from my credit card, the ongoing pressure and constant demand for this baseless charge have caused significant stress and frustration. A global company like Airbnb should not tolerate such unfair and unproven charges and should stand by its customers. I demand that this €300 fee request be canceled immediately and that my complaint be taken seriously to prevent such exploitation from happening to other guests.
