Airbnb Double-Booked My Villa Reservation and Gave No Support
My friends and I booked a villa on Airbnb for September 12-14, but for 8 days we received absolutely no support from Airbnb. Immediately after booking, Mr. B******, who manages the host's property, contacted us to inform us that they had already rented the villa to someone else by taking a deposit for those dates! He then offered us another house, outside of Airbnb, that didn't even come close to matching the quality of the one we had booked. They strung us along for about a week. Because we had to find another place, until we canceled, the host told Airbnb that we could stay at the villa. To us, he admitted, "Unfortunately, I've taken a deposit; others will be staying." We were forced to cancel our reservation and rent another house at a slightly higher price. This is completely unacceptable!
