Yesterday, we purchased a new phone and a new mobile number for my father, and I installed WhatsApp for the first time on the device. Shortly after completing the setup, the account was shut down without any warning, and we started seeing the message “This account can no longer use WhatsApp.” As of now, we are unable to log in to WhatsApp at all.
This number was intended to be used only to communicate with family and friends. Since our contacts were not yet visible on the phone, we tapped the “broadcast message” option within WhatsApp. Other than that, no actions were taken that violate WhatsApp’s rules. Because the account was blocked on the very first day, we are now unable to use the app on a brand-new phone and line.
I clicked the “Request a review” button shown on the screen. No additional information or documents were requested; it only stated that we would receive a response within 24 hours. However, we have not received any result confirming that the account has been restored. We do not believe this ban is fair, as there was no clear violation of any rules.
I am requesting that the WhatsApp account for this newly purchased number be reinstated, and that the reason for this action be clearly explained to us.
