Volkswagen Passat B7 DSG Key Symbol Warning and Gear Shifting Failure

I'm having some trouble with the automatic transmission in my Volkswagen Passat B7 DSG. There seems to be an issue with the DSG transmission display, as a key symbol has appeared and the gears are not shifting correctly. Although the reverse, neutral, and park gears are functioning properly, there seems to be an issue when attempting to shift into the next stage of the forward gear.
