Vodafone's Troubling Porting Experience

I recently applied online to have my phone number transferred from another carrier to Vodafone. Unfortunately, I was unable to coordinate with the courier who arrived to deliver my SIM card, so the delivery was missed. I called Vodafone customer service at 0542**42 00 00 and they directed me to a Vodafone store. They made another application for me and gave me the SIM card there. They promised that my line would be operational within 3-5 days, but even after a week, it was still inactive, with no messages received. When I called customer service again, they acknowledged the problem and accepted my application over the phone, advising me to pick up the SIM card from a Vodafone store. I went to the store and purchased a new SIM card, but my line remained inactive with no calls after 10 days. Every attempt to switch carriers is met with opposition because they claim there is an active application with Vodafone. What kind of company are you, Vodafone? I'm perplexed.
