I am a Vodafone user and a lawyer. Due to my job, I went to the Akmerkez İstanbul Vodafone store on 19.10.2023 at around 18:15 to get a mobile signature. First of all, the sim card I was using was canceled, and a new sim card was installed on my phone. However, the new mobile signature-compatible sim card turned out to be defective. Thereupon, the store manager asked for help from the officers 5-6 times, both verbally and in writing, to activate my previously, canceled SIM card and stated the urgency of the situation, but the problem was not resolved. Finally, an official contacted by the store manager and said that the problem would be solved within half an hour. After this last official convinced the store manager, I left the store around 20:15. I waited in the store for about 2 hours in total. The time I waited in the store is also confirmed by the security camera records of the store and the shopping mall. As I left the store and started to drive into Istanbul traffic with my phone, whose SIM card was not working, I was worried about what I might experience in case of an emergency. During this period, my mother and my wife, who both wanted to reach me, called me many times and were also worried. I was hoping that my phone's SIM card would be unlocked on the way home, or at the latest when I arrived home in the evening. However, my SIM card is still disabled, and my clients, relatives, and everyone else who wants to reach me and from whom I expect a phone call cannot reach me at the moment. It is 20.10.2023 at 11:00, and unfortunately, the sim card is still turned off. Not being able to contact my clients who want to reach me causes me material and moral damage. Everyone knows what kind of image a lawyer whose mobile phone has been off for about 18 hours will have in the eyes of his clients. I demand that this serious grievance I have experienced be remedied as soon as possible. Otherwise, if my SIM card is not opened until 12:00 on 20.10.2023 today, I will terminate my contract with Vodafone for a justified reason and move my line to another operator. I hereby state that I reserve my rights to compensation for the material and moral damage I have suffered due to this victimization and my right to complain about the responsible officers that caused my victimization.
