I Was Charged an Annual Fee for My Platinum Card Vakıfbank
I hereby request a refund of the ₺799 annual fee charged to my VakıfBank Platinum credit card ending in 3419 on 02.06.2025. According to Article 31, Paragraph 3 of the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 dated May 28, 2014, card issuers are obligated to provide a credit card option to consumers that does not incur an annual membership fee or similar charges. Additionally, based on Article 6 of the Law on the Protection of Consumers No. 4077, amended by Law No. 4822, the membership fee charged by your bank is considered an unfair term, as it is not in exchange for a specific service, is pre-drafted, and appears in a standard agreement that cannot be negotiated. Furthermore, according to the ruling of the 13th Civil Chamber (2011/4736 E, 2011/11579 K) and the General Assembly of Civil Chambers (2010/1-93-88), there is a binding decision stating that previously deducted annual card fees must also be refunded. Based on these legal grounds, I request that the card fee be refunded to me without delay. If this is not resolved, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and, if necessary, request the cancellation of my card with your bank. I respectfully request the necessary action be taken.
