I have had a disappointing experience with Turkcell, which I now regret. My daughter’s smartwatch has been broken for months and was not in use, yet I discovered that I was billed ₺320 instead of the monthly ₺65 payment. Since the watch was broken, my daughter, in her childlike curiosity, connected it to my phone and set up WhatsApp.
Upon receiving an SMS notification, I intervened and removed the SIM card, but they still terminated the contract, citing a breach of agreement, and billed me the full amount. The SMS I received indicated that the watch should not be used for 48 or 72 hours, and despite removing the SIM card the same day, they maliciously terminated the contract.
Since the contract was terminated, I was charged an additional ₺250 a month later for a package that was already unused. There has been no communication or notification regarding the contract termination. It is completely natural for an 8-year-old to mistakenly connect and disconnect a SIM card, and even adults can make such errors. We cannot scrutinize every clause in the contract with a lawyer; we trust institutions when we sign up.
Turkcell is a publicly traded company, and you provided notification via SMS, which I acted upon. If you stated a time frame, why was it ignored? You claimed a rule violation and terminated the contract without informing me. Why are you still billing me as if the SIM card contract is active?
You might think you can take ₺500 to ₺1000 from me (I noticed the charge early because I am a careful consumer). However, I will share my experiences about how low-quality and malicious Turkcell is with everyone around me, from my home internet to the app products on my phone. I will also share this on social media.
