Troy Charged Me Extra for MacBook Air 15 Inch M4 and Denied Buyback
On 17.08.2025, I purchased a MacBook Air 15-inch M4 512 GB model from Troy store and handed in my old MacBook under the buyback program. The sales transaction was processed by an employee named O*** O***, with the store manager also involved in the process. I was promised ₺7,000 for my old device under the buyback program; however, the invoice reflected only ₺4,900, leaving a ₺2,100 shortfall. Additionally, the bag, case, and hub accessories that were stated to be free gifts were included as paid items on the invoice, and the Microsoft Office software was also charged. Since the invoice was sent digitally via email a day later, I noticed these discrepancies too late. When I raised the issue with the store staff and the manager, they persistently denied the problem and offered no solution. In total, I paid ₺61,027 with my Yapı Kredi World credit card in 3 installments. My invoice number is 8112025000002107. I request that the charges for the bag, case, hub, and Microsoft Office software be refunded, that the full ₺7,000 promised under the buyback program be honored, that the missing ₺2,100 be returned, and that the refund process be communicated to me in writing.
Progress
On 17.08.2025, I experienced a serious grievance during a buyback transaction at the Troy Caddebostan Branch. My invoice number is: 8112025000002107. Although a refund of 7,000.00 TL was promised under the buyback program, only 4,971.00 TL was deposited into my account, resulting in an underpayment of 2,029.00 TL. Additionally, products such as a bag, transparent case, and converter hub, which were declared as 'gifts', were invoiced to me as paid items. Moreover, they held my computers as collateral and did not deliver either my new computer or my old computer, which was to be set up, to me. They removed Microsoft claiming there would be no conflict, and even though I use English, they provided it in Turkish. They also claimed to have given a discount on this but charged a high fee.
I believe this situation is a deceptive and unfair commercial practice that violates the Law on Consumer Protection and relevant regulations. I also learned that another customer experienced a similar issue on 12.04.2025. This is the first time I have faced such a grievance. I was planning to buy a new phone next month, but my trust in the brand has been shaken due to these events.
So far, I have contacted branch staff and customer service, but I have not received any response yet. I request the refund of the overcharged amount of 14,328.20 TL from my credit card purchase and the missing buyback amount, the delivery of my new computer and my old computer that was to be set up, and that the necessary ethical training be provided to the store staff.
