I Face Tripadvisor Review Removal Problems Over A Malicious Former Employee Review

I discovered an unfair and insulting review about my restaurant on Tripadvisor that was written by a former employee. I first noticed the review on July 20, 2026, and I have reported it through the app three separate times requesting its removal. However, each of my reports has been rejected.

The review contains clearly inappropriate and insulting language and, in my view, was not written as a genuine customer experience. I believe it was deliberately posted to damage both my personal reputation and my restaurant’s rating. I terminated this former server’s employment for serious reasons, and I believe the review was intentionally written afterward to lower my restaurant’s score and insult me. The individual created a Tripadvisor account specifically to post the review, submitted it while physically near me, and personally stated that they understood the impact Tripadvisor reviews could have on a business.

I cannot accept that a review which I believe is abusive, biased, and written in bad faith has remained published even after Tripadvisor reviewed my reports three times. The situation is negatively affecting both my personal reputation and the credibility and rating of my restaurant.

I request that Tripadvisor review this content again, taking into account the reviewer’s prior employment relationship with my business, the insulting language used, and the circumstances surrounding the review. I ask that the review be removed if it is found to violate Tripadvisor’s policies regarding biased, abusive, or inappropriate content.

I also request that Tripadvisor apply more careful moderation to content that appears to have been posted specifically to retaliate against a business or damage its reputation rather than to share a genuine customer experience.
